Covid-19 might be a blessing in disguise
Apr 22, 2020
Covid-19 is scary to say the least and global anxiety is on the rise. But, despite the realities of this pandemic, I cannot help to see a window of opportunity opening for massive disruption that is long overdue. The world of work and business is changing, but we are stuck in our 'business as usual' mindset. The emergence of the GIG economy and the availability of technology and digital tools enable us to utilise remote workers better, have virtual meetings, and upskill ourselves through online education. Yet, we keep ignoring the fact that we overheat and overconsume our planet and maintain the status quo in how we conduct business. Use this uncertain time to rethink, re-imagine and adjust your business model and operations. Re-evaluate the utilization of your human resources and redefine sustainability in your context. The forced slow down might be a blessing in disguise to re-evaluate our existence and give mother nature a breather from CO2 emissions. The Fourth Industrial Revolution was always going to be disruptive - maybe Covid-19 is giving us a push in the right direction. We are also being united as a globe and asked to put all our differences aside.
