The importance of a Mindset!

For years I have made it my mission to instill an entrepreneurial mindset in children and will continue to do so. I lost count of the number of parents that told me that their children will become 'professionals' and not entrepreneurs. My reaction was always that having this mindset is imperative for survival in 4IR, irrespective if you start a business or not. Covid-19 has fast-forwarded reality. A portfolio of jobs will replace the concept of a career and self-employment, personal & micro-business numbers will increase substantially going forward. While we all press the reset button I honestly believe that this mindset is imperative. What exactly is an entrepreneurial mindset? It is a certain way of thinking. It is the fabric that you need to propel yourself despite your immediate circumstances. It is how you solve problems, see opportunities and adapt to change. It is also the ability to embrace failure, extract value from mistakes and your disposition to take calculated risks. You are a dreamer, a problem solver, a lifelong learner. You are accountable, is driven by self-reliance and you take responsibility. You see the world differently than the rest! Take this time and re-invent yourself. Your clean canvas might be a blessing in disguise.
